"Welcome
From The Principal"
Welcome !
Thank you for your interest in Summit
International Learning Centre.
We, the Summit team and the parents, must be
fully aware that Pre-school children acquire
basic life skills. Positive reinforcement and
clear consistent guideline provide a safe and
nurturing environment for children to explore
and grow. It is important to remember that each
and every child is unique and they develop at
their own individual pace.
Our teachers create a warm and trustworthy
atmosphere where both the toddlers and the
preschoolers enjoy and promote good interaction.
We teach them to be considerate of others and
encourage them to make new friends while
processing both cognitive and emotional
experiences and independence.
We firmly believe that education is a
process-a step- by- step lifelong progression,
while building a proper foundation for this
process is our sole desire and goal. We are
proud to acknowledge parent’s trust in us in
training their children: to be ready to begin
reading and writing in terms of English and
learning the basic concepts of Mathematics,
Science and adapting the fragile environment
around us. In addition to these academic
achievements, we also nurture them to be well
brought-up children in terms of manners,
behaviour and our culture.
As this is our fifth successful academic
year, we strongly believe that we are ready to
progress to the next step of teaching, the
opening of Primary ( 1 ). Through active
participation in individual, group and whole
class activities, our Primary (1) students are
to explore a wide range of subjects: English
1&2, Maths 1 & 2, Science, Environmental
studies, Health and Personal Development and
Myanmar. Besides these academic subjects, Arts
and Crafts, Music, Structure Play, Spoken
Mandarin and Physical Education will be included
in their daily routine alternatively.
In making our school a success, we do need
all three parties, School-Students-Parents, to
start working with an open and continual
communication, creating a comfortable yet
challenging “fun & learn” environment for our
Summit students.
Good luck and congratulations to our sixth
academic year, especially to our Primary 1
Students,

Junior Nursery
Taking care of very young children is
probably the most important job: moulding their
little lives into the way they should be,
training them and teaching them every day. Do
you think they just learn to bounce for the
“Bule Bus” song?. They learn the alphabets,
rhythms, Numbers and exercise their motor skills
through the medium of instruction in English. Do
you think they are just playing with blocks? In
reality, they are learning to add, divide,
subtract, imitate, discover the laws of Physics
and Geometry. Social competence is one the
important issues teachers try to put their
emphasison. Do you think that they were just
scattering beads all over the floor? But no!
They’ve been learning about patterns, design,
volume and shapes. It is just amazing, what
young children can learn! I think their English
vocabulary have expanded a lot. The monument
blocks of future academic success have been
laid. It is such a joy to see them soak up all
the knowledge aroung them.
Thank You

Senior Nursery
Senior Nursery went through their ABCs,
colours, animals, transportation and many other
important topics. They have learned to hold a
pencil through pages and pages of colouring,
letter writing and painting. They have heard
many stories and learned to be friends. Children
are the greatest psychologists. They each have
their “Special companion” at school. In addition
to that, they each have won an exceptional place
in at least one of the teacher’s heart. They
must have disclosed to you who their favourite
teacher is. But what binds us all together are
those victories won in the academic area. They
have learned a lot, and so did we, as their
innocence and the power of imagination are
almost always beyond our reach.
Thank You

Pre-KG
I have observed considerable progress in all
areas of learning: listening, speaking, reading
and writing. All thanks to the hardworking
teachers, students and parents. Train station,
racing horse stables, plastic factory, milk
farm! These are some of the things you probably
have heard from your children about. We have had
a number of animal visitors like: puppies,
hamsters, kittens, rabbits and even goats which
helped to reinforce their phonic skills, gain
some scientific knowledge as well as touch and
feel the amazing world around them. The children
have learned a lot about the multicultural
environment that they live in: making light
festival lanterns, a Christmas tree, a Dragon
for the Chinese New Year, beautiful yellow Water
Festival folwers, painting Easter eggs and so
on. I think we can be proud of the progress our
students have made this year! I can say without
a shadow of a doubt that they all are ready for
KG!
Thank You

KG
Dear parents, guardians and students!
What a year we have had! We have learned so
much! Consistent Mathsinput has paid off: the
children can read the instructions in their
Maths books and follow, they can add, subtract,
do simple multiplication and division; they
solve problem and read graphs; they count dimes,
nickels and pennies, count by 2,3,5,10 and
backwards, tell the time and read 3-digit
numbers. The students have made decent progress
phonetically as well. They can read stories, all
by themselves now! There are also a number of
poems that children can share with the class,
some are quite long. Our nature observations
started with the tadpoles in the pond and ended
with the goat in our garden., We have learned
about the farm and Myanmar farmers – the
children ended up sharing their Christmas
presents with them. They have enjoyed quite a
few cooking projects: making sushi, hamburgers,
pizzas, Shwe In Ye, and Bolong Ye. Frequent
media occasions have boosted their performing
skills: “Fresh up”, MRTV4, Ovaltine, just to
name a few. But what is more important after all
this intense educational input? The children
want to learn more! Sky is the limit, to what
these children can achieve! Raising children is
a joined venture: parents, caregivers, and
teachers – all need to take an active part.
